Game 18

These are for the games that were played on Friday, February 18.

The Crusaders bettered their hopes of being in the playoffs by beating the Hawks 4-3 in the early game. Ryan Benjamins scored a goal and two assists for the Crusaders, while Greg Bork got three helpers.

The Omegas once again showed their power by beating the Cougars 10-4 in the middle game. Kalen Hellinga scored a hat-tick for the Omegas. Lance Ross scored twice and added four assists in the win. He wins the Player of the Week honours.

In the late game, the Flyers beat the Stars 5-3. Derek Bouma & Joel VanVeller each scored twice in the Flyers' win.

Game 17

These are for the games that were played on Saturday, February 12 at the RBC Centre.

In the early game, the Cougars were not able to make it two victories in the weekend and fell to the Flyers 11-1. Matt VanMarum & Tyler Veenendaal each scored a hat-trick in the Flyers win. Tyler also added three assists. The Player of the Night is Ryan Cross who scored two goals and added six assists.

The Stars rebounded from a devastating loss the night before to beat the Crusaders 5-1. Curt Moesker & Greg Wierenga each scored twice in the Stars' victory. With this win the Stars, Crusaders, & Cougars are all tied up for the final playoff spot.

The late game was a great game to watch. The Hawks & Omegas battled it out right down to the last second of the game. The Hawks tied the game halfway through the third period and the game looked like it was overtime bound until Dave VanOostveen completed his hat-trick with 28 seconds left in the third period. The Omegas didn't give up and almost tied it again in the last second. The Hawks held on and won the game 5-4.

Game 16

These are for the games that were played on Friday, February 11.

The early game saw the Cougars comeback to beat the Stars 6-4. The Stars were up by the score of 4-1 at one point, but the Cougars stormed back with five unanswered goals. Darren DeGroot led the way for the Cougars by scoring a hat-trick and adding one assist. Dallas Fraser scored twice in the Stars' loss.

In the middle game, the Omegas continued their winning streak by beating the Crusaders 6-4. Matt Tamminga scored twice in the Crusaders' loss while Lance Ross & Karsten Berg each scored twice for the Omegas.

The late game between the Hawks & Flyers was a battle for second place in the standings. The Flyers prevailed by shutting out the Hawks 5-0. Rick Jones earned the shutout & also the Player of the Night honours. Joel VanVeller scored two goals in the Flyers' win.

Misconduct

Derek Bouma of the Flyers received a "10 minute" misconduct in the game with the Omegas on Saturday night. This is Derek's first "10 minute" misconduct of the season, so he is okay to play in the next game on February 11.

Game 15

These are for the games that were played at the RBC Centre on Saturday, January 29.

The early game saw the Omegas come from behind and beat the Flyers 4-2. Fred VanReenen Jr. scored twice for the Omegas, while fellow Omega, Karsten Berg got a goal and two assists.

In the middle game, the Hawks got back to their winning ways by beating the Stars 5-2. Nick DeBoer led the way for the Hawks by scoring twice.

In the late game, the Crusaders were able to end their losing streak, by beating the Cougars 7-0. Josh Tamminga earned his first shut-out of the season, while Trevor Benjamins of the Crusaders scored his first two goals in our league. Jordan DeBoer of the Crusaders earns the Player of the Night honours by scoring a hat-trick and adding two assists.
