Standings & Tie Breakers

Posted Mon Feb 22, 2016 - 10:11 PM

With us going into the final Friday night of the regular season, there are a lot of questions out there on "what ifs". I thought that I would try to clarify a few of the questions.

In case of any ties in the standings, here is the summary on the tie breakers:
1) most wins
2) most wins head to head between tied teams
3) most goals scored head to head between tied teams
4) best GF/GA record overall
5) most goals scored overall

Currently the standings are:
Stars - 27 points
Hawks - 27 points
Flyers - 19 points
Cattle Barons - 18 points
Omegas - 17 points
Ice Dogs -8 points

All three games are meaningful this Friday, and there are a ton of different scenarios that can come from the games.

Misconducts & Suspensions

Posted Mon Feb 22, 2016 - 09:53 PM

We had few incidents this past Friday (Feb.19). Here are the details:

Jake Huizinga (Cattle Barons) was handed a "10 minute" misconduct. This was the first time this season that Jake has received a "10 minute" misconduct, so he is okay to play again this coming Friday.

Jordan Deboer (Ice Dogs) was handed a "10 minute" misconduct. This was the first "10 minute" of the season for Jordan, so he did not receive a suspension for it.
Jordan was also given a "game" misconduct in addition, so he has been suspended one game for this "game" misconduct. This suspension will be served this coming Friday (Feb.26).
In the game, Jordan accumulated a total of 16 penalty minutes, which brought his season total to 64 penalty minutes. Because Jordan passed the 60 minute mark in penalties, he will be suspended from playing in the first three games of next season.

Jason Hotke (Stars) passed the 30 minute mark in penalties for the season, so he is suspended for one game. Jay is okay to play again on February 26.

Ejections & Suspensions

We had a few incidents in the games last Friday (February 5). Here are the details:

Sid VanReenen (Omegas) was given a "major" penalty for elbowing. Since it was a "major", Sid has been suspended for two games. In doing so, Sid has also reached the 30 minute mark in penalties. For this, Sid will be suspended for an additional game on top of the other two. This means that the next time that Sid will be eligible to play again will be the first game of the playoffs on March 4.

Eric Vanderlinde (Cattle Barons) has also reached the 30 minute mark in penalties. He is suspended for one game. The next game that he is eligible to play again is on Friday, February 19.

Derek Bouma (Flyers) received three minor penalties in his game and was ejected from the game for doing so. This was the first time that this has occurred this season for Derek, so he is okay to play again in the next game.

Here are few things to take note of from the games that were played last week (January 29):

Chris VanVeller (Flyers) received three minor penalties in his game and was ejected from the game for doing so. It was the first time that this has occurred this season for Chris, so he is okay to play again this Friday.

Lance Ross (Omegas) has reached the 30 minute mark in penalties this season, so he has been suspended for one game. He will be eligible to play again on February 12.
