In the early game, Andrew Melville, of the Ice Dogs, passed the 30 minute mark in penalties for this season. In doing so, Andrew has been suspended for one game. He will be okay to return to play on December 19th.
In the late game, Kyle Huizinga, of the Hawks was handed a "10 minute" misconduct. This was the first "10 minute" misconduct of the season for Kyle, so he was okay to play in his next game.
Lance Ross, of the Omegas, also was handed a "10 minute" misconduct in the late game. This was the second "10 minute" misconduct for Lance this season, so he was suspended for one game for doing so. Lance also passed the 30 minute mark in penalties in this game, so he has been suspended one more game for this. He will be okay to return to play on January 2nd.

This is the summary of the games that were played on December 5th.
The top seeded Cattle Barons suffered just their third loss of the season in the early game. This time the Ice Dogs won it 7-1.
The Ice Dogs had control throughout this one. They led it 2-0 after the first period, and 5-0 after two.
Although Josh Tamminga put in a good effort in net for the Ice Dogs, we'll give the Player of the Game hounours to Wesley Boelens. Ole' Bubs scored twice for the Ice Dogs.
The Stars continued on their hot streak by beating the Flyers 7-2 in the middle game.
The Stars got off to another quick start. This time finding themselves up 2-0 in the first two minutes of the game. It was 3-1 after the first period, and 6-2 after two.
We'll let Chris Helps & Jason Hotke share the Player of the Game in this one. Each of them scored a hat-trick for the Stars. Chris Simard deserves honourable mention with his three assists.
The late game between the Hawks & Omegas ended in a 4-4 draw.
This was a very good game that went back and forth the whole way through. The Omegas led 2-1 after the first period, and the teams went scoreless in the second. The Hawks tied it up 2-2 early in the third, but the Omegas regained the lead one minute later. In the next five minutes, the Hawks had scored two more to take a 4-3 lead. With just under two minutes to go in the third, the Omegas scored to tie it up again. The teams solved nothing in overtime, but this game deserved to be a tie anyways.
Brad Pelleboer of the Hawks played in his first game in our league and scored his first goal.
The Player of the Game is Mark Zylstra of the Omegas. Mark scored twice, including the game-tying goal.

This is the summary of the games that were played on November 28th.
The Stars beat the Omegas 8-5 in the early game.
The Stars got off to a quick start, and found themselves up 4-0 after the first period. Things somewhat evened out for the rest of the game, but the damage was done.
Mark Zylstra had four points in the Omegas' loss. Chris Helps had five points for the Stars, but we'll give the Player of the Game to Jason Hotke. Jason scored a hat-trick in the Stars' win.
The middle game saw the Flyers beat the Ice Dogs 7-2.
Thanks in large part to the outstanding goaltending performance by Steve Minten, the Flyers cruised to victory. Steve, playing in his first game in our league, certainly made a good first impression, and earns the Player of the Game. How many goalies can say that the first goal scored against them was on a penalty shot?
The Cattle Barons kept control of the top spot in the standings by beating the Hawks 6-4 in the late game.
It was an even game the whole way through. The Cattle Barons held a 2-1 lead after the first period, and the teams went into the third period tied at 3-3.
Billy Sipkens & Jon Vanderlinde, of the Cattle Barons, and Rob Nutma, of the Hawks, will share the Player of the Game in this one. Each of these players scored two goals for their respective teams.

This is the summary of the games that were played on Friday, November 21st.
The hottest team in our league lately has been the Cattle Barons. They continued on their march to the top of the standings by beating the Omegas 5-2 in the early game.
They held a 2-0 lead after the first period. The Omegas made a game of it by scoring twice in the second period, bringing the score to 3-2 going into the third.
The Cattle Barons regained control of the game in the third by scoring two more.
For the second week in a row, Steve Pastoor gets the nod for the Player of the Game.
The middle game between the Stars & Ice Dogs was a real barn burner, and fittingly, ended in a 5-5 tie.
It was an even game the whole way through with the teams trading the lead.
Matt Tamminga & Jordan Deboer each had three points for the Ice Dogs. Chris Helps, once again, led the Stars with four points, but we'll give the Player of the Game to Phil Nywening. He scored twice for the Ice Dogs.
As mentioned in a previous post, the late game that was scheduled between the Hawks & Flyers was postponed due to the glass being broken in warmups.

This is the summary for the games that were played on Friday, November 14th.
The early game saw the Stars beat the Hawks 5-4.
The Hawks looked in control early on and held a 4-1 lead going into the third period. That's when the Stars started their comeback.
The Stars scored two goals in the first half of the third to bring it to within a goal. With just over a minute to go in the third, the Stars took advantage of a powerplay and tied it up at 4-4. The game looked destined for overtime, but the Stars stunned the Hawks by scoring the game winner with only nine seconds to go in the third.
Chris Helps had three points in the Stars' comeback, but we'll give the Player of the Game to Curt Moesker. Curt also had a three point game, including scoring the game winner.
The Cattle Barons flexed their muscles by beating the Flyers 6-1 in the middle game.
They held a 3-0 lead after the first, and a 6-0 lead after two. The Flyers foiled Steve Pastoor's bid for a shutout with less than three minutes to go in the third. Even though he missed out on getting the first shutout of the season for any of our league's goaltenders, Steve still gets the nod for the Player of the Game in this one.
The late game between the Omegas & Ice Dogs saw the Ice Dogs come away with a 6-4 victory.
The Ice Dogs looked like they were going to run away with this one. They held a 3-0 lead after the first, and a 5-1 lead after two.
The Omegas started to come back in the third by scoring three goals to bring the score to 5-4. The Ice Dogs were able to seal the deal with an empty-netter in the last minute.
Matt Tamminga & Jordan Deboer each had three points for the Ice Dogs. They will share the Player of the Game for their efforts.
