Both of the semi-final series proved to be quite exciting playoff hockey. Game 3 of both of the series also did not disappoint.
In the early game on Friday night, the Albinos once again, upset the top seeded Hawks by beating them 4-3 in overtime, earning their spot in the finals.
Both teams seemed to take some time to get settled into the game, but the Albinos scored twice in the last few minutes of the first period to hold a 2-0 lead. By the end of the second period, the Albinos scored another goal and went into the third with a 3-0 lead.
The Hawks were finally able to solve Albinos goalie, Zac Harris, early in the third period. That goal seemed to give the Hawks some confidence and they scored another goal just two minutes later. When the Hawks scored their third goal five minutes later, it looked like it took the wind out of the sales for the Albinos. However, they were able to hang onto the 3-3 until the end of the third.
Overtime was also very exciting with both teams getting their chances. With about four minutes to go in the ten minute overtime period, Ryan Clubb was able to sneak one through and won the series for the Albinos.
Both goalies played particularly well in the game, but the Hawks likely would've ran away with the game if not for the clinic that Zac Harris put on. The Albinos goaltender earned the Player of the Game for the second time in this series.
The Omegas earned their ticket to play in the Finals by beating the Flyers 4-1 in the third game of their semi-final series.
Here again, both teams seemed to take some time to get settled into the game. Each team scored a goal in the first period.
In the second period, the Omegas scored two quick goals to take a 3-1 lead. The score stayed this way until the Omegas added an empty net goal with one minute to go.
Like Game 3 of the other series, both goaltenders in this game held their teams in it. Seth Hellinga gets the Player of the Game for this one. He was able to pretty much shut down the high scoring players on the Flyers.
