Thank You

Posted Thu Dec 29, 2016 - 06:37 PM

I just wanted to say thank-you to all the players that participated in last week's games. I'm not sure if it had anything to do with the "play nice" request that I had asked for, but I very much appreciated it. We had a grand total of seven minor penalties called throughout the entire evening (all six teams included). That's awesome! Let's keep this trend going into the new year. :)

Please Be Nice To One Another

Since tomorrow night's games (December 23) are right before Christmas, I would really appreciate it if everyone could please be extra careful to behave themselves in the games. I don't want to have to spend my Christmas sorting out suspensions, etc.
Believe it or not, my family actually likes my company. I would rather spend time with them instead of dealing with misbehaving boys. :)

As Spongebob says: "Don't be a jerk....... It's Christmas!"

Ejections

Kevin Kraayenbrink & Jeff VanderSlagt (both of the Omegas) were each handed three minor penalties in their game against the Ice Dogs last week (December 16th). Both of these players were ejected from the game when they received their third penalty. This was the first time that this has occurred for either player this season, so they are both okay to play in the next game this week (December 23rd).

Misconducts & Suspensions

The early game between the Albinos & the Ice Dogs was a tough one to watch as a Convenor of a Church Hockey League.
We had a few incidents, and here's what came out of it:

Duncan Vanderwal (Ice Dogs) was handed a major penalty for roughing. To add to that, he was also given a gross misconduct.
He has been suspended for two games for receiving a major penalty. Plus, he has been suspended for an additional three games for receiving a gross misconduct. This means that Duncan has been suspended for five games in total. He is not eligible to play again until Friday, February 3, 2017. He is also NOT ELIGIBLE to fill in for any team as a substitute goalie during this suspension.

Jordan DeBoer (Ice Dogs) was given a "10 minute" misconduct in this game as well. This was the first time that Jordan received a "10 minute" misconduct this season, so he has not been suspended for that. However, later in the game, Jordan received a gross misconduct. For this, Jordan has been suspended for three games. The next game that he is eligible to play again is on Saturday, January 7, 2017.

Misconducts & Suspensions

In the game between the Ice Dogs & Hawks, Clint Schenk (Hawks) received a "10 minute" misconduct. This was the first "10 minute" misconduct that Clint received this season, so he was not suspended for it. However, in doing so, Clint has reached the 30 minute mark in accumulated penalties. For this, he has been suspended for one game.
